Remarketing: The User's Online Guide

OFF ZOO

Remarketing is the user’s online tile. That announcement accompanying the potential consumer up to the end of his session.

A user starts to be escorted by ads from a website that he has already visited, from the moment he accepts the installation of cookies to continue browsing that page. Remarketing manoeuvres shall be different, depending on the level of interaction that that user has been performing at that site. To more interplay, that strategy will be more aggressive. Ads to highlight the brand, to sell products, or to fake customers, text, image or video, will appear to you at search engines, social networks and even at e-mails. The possibilities offered by Remarketing today seem endless.

The Remarketing technique has become one of the most advantageous strategies for large commercial companies. That technique allows you to have your smartphone, cruise, or MBA that you have been interested with, followed for weeks by your daily browsing routine. They are advertising campaigns with an initial contact between consumer and product potential and are often more efficient, cheap and cost-effective for companies. The ads are fully customizable relative to the phase at which the user has left the purchase process. In addition to exclusives, for example for users who after clicking on one of the ads end up becoming customers.

But not everything about these strategies depends on what decisions are made by those with responsibility for re-marketing campaigns. The browsing behaviour and decisions that the user will determine will condition its performance. On the one hand, for an effective re-marketing campaign to occur, the user should conduct his or her entire browsing routine from the same session. For instance, this user can conduct his or her searches for his or her potential purchases from one session at work and navigate through another from home. That would cause users to get a different type of advertising depending on their browsing session. something similar happens with inconspicuous browsing, where cache or cookies are automatically removed at the close of each session. Circumstances leading to remarketing strategies being automatically out of this stage.

Another of the determinations that will condition their productivity, is the user’s response to this type of campaign. Since January 2018, Google has been offering its users an opportunity to control the type of ads and how often they appear to them while browsing. A complementary step to the option to silence the ads shown, that Google has been offering since 2012. That provision also offers them an opportunity to explain why they do not wish to continue to see that particular announcement and to apply the decision to all devices through which users navigate from that same session.

They are all measures undertaken with the aim of optimizing the segmentation and performance of these companies’ marketing strategies and increasing the satisfaction and experience of users or potential clients to whom they are directed.

About the blog and its content

Topics, editorial standards and publishing frequency.

The blog is organised into four areas: web design and development, search visibility (SEO, local SEO and GEO), artificial intelligence applied to business, and digital marketing and content. The current priority is AI for business, because that is where search demand is growing fastest: searches related to AI automation have multiplied twentyfold in Spain over the past year, while the sector’s classic vocabulary is falling.

We publish on a regular schedule, prioritising depth over volume. We would rather publish one well-researched article a month, with our own perspective and real examples, than four superficial ones. Content on fast-moving technical topics (AI, Google algorithm changes) is reviewed and updated periodically rather than left to age.

Articles are written and signed by the Creactivitat team. AI tools are used as support for specific tasks — research, data analysis, proofreading — but the judgement, the experience from real projects and the conclusions come from the team. This distinction matters: Google rewards demonstrable experience (E-E-A-T), and readers quickly spot mass-generated content with no real thinking behind it.

Every article shows its publication date and, where it has been revised, the date it was last updated. In a sector where the rules change every few months — especially anything involving AI search engines — an undated article is a warning sign. If you spot something out of date, let us know and we will review it.

Yes. Many articles come from real questions raised by clients or readers. You can send us your suggestion through the contact page. If the question is specific and comes up often, it will likely become an article or a Help Centre entry.

How to use the blog

Navigation, subscribing and reusing content.

The blog is organised by topic categories, not just by date, so you can go straight to the area you need: web design, search visibility, artificial intelligence or digital marketing. If you are looking for a quick, practical answer, the Creactivitat Help Centre is usually faster, because it is structured as questions and answers.

The Help Centre answers specific questions briefly and directly (what SEO is, how a web project works, what GEO is). The blog develops topics in depth: analysis, real cases, industry shifts and informed opinion. If you want a quick answer, go to the Help Centre; if you want to understand a topic thoroughly, go to the blog.
